The 997 looks great from any angle - although from behind is how most people will spend their time viewing it!

Some cars seem to have been around forever.  The 911 certainly falls into that category, however with each passing generation of car,  Porsche has raised the bar and taken it closer towards perfection.  Just like the shark, evolution  of the 911 has generally been a slow process, and only minor adaptations have been needed to keep it top of the food chain.
The latest generation of the 911 is definitely the best yet though, and whilst evolution has left the shape relatively unchanged, there have been significant changes to the core DNA of this model.  Under the sleek exterior lies a whole new predator!

How easily can the body make use of the sugars in fruit?

Many of us think of fruit as something we should be eating on a regular basis.   The ‘5 a day campaign’ certainly seems to push the benefits of eating fruit regularly, but what are the downsides?

The real answer here is that fruit can be both good and bad for your body, depending on your fitness goals.  If you are keen to lose body fat then you need to understand how food reacts once it is in the body before you can decide if, and when you should be eating it.  One of the key properties of most fruits is that they contain fructose.  Fructose is a sugar and in its native state cannot be directly absorbed by the body.  The body has to convert the fructose into glucose, which it does through the liver.  Once this process is complete the body will then release the glucose into the bloodstream.

Can you eat a full english breakfast and still stay trim & healthy?

The popularity of the full english breakfast is perhaps down to one of the best marketing campaigns of all time.  As a result of declining sales of bacon during the 1920’s manufacturers turned to marketing guru Edward Bernay’s to help generate demand.  His idea was to conduct a survey asking Dr’s one simple question, “would you recommend a light breakfast, or a hearty one?”  When the results showed that a ‘hearty one’ was the most popular answer, he started a campaign promoting bacon and eggs as the breakfast of choice.  The rest as they say is history.

‘Coffee in the morning is fine.  It’s a good source of antioxidants.  Your choice of breakfast should include protein and some vegetables though.  Fruit is ok in the morning too … you want energy to last you throughout the day’

Haile Gebrselassie has today announced his retirement from running.  After encountering knee problems at the New York City Marathon, he has decided that the time has come to allow the youngsters a chance to perform.  There will undoubtedly be major pressure from his home country, where he is regarded as a national treasure.  The New York event was pitched as a springboard for the 2012 campaign, however after pulling out and having medical checks he has felt the need to remove himself from the sport.  It was a real privilege to see him run at the Great North Run this year, in what may have been his final event.  We hope to see him run again, and it would be a tragic shame to see him end his career in this way.  Fingers cross that he has a change of heart, but if not we would like to wish him all the best for the future.
